Booking conditions

How bookings made through São Tomé Trip work. The specific terms that apply to your trip, including the full details of the business you contract with, are set out in your written quote and confirmed before you pay anything.

1. What we provide

São Tomé Trip plans trips to São Tomé and Príncipe and arranges services delivered by local guides and operators, such as guiding, driving, transfers, boat trips and activities. We do not sell international or domestic flights or accommodation unless your quote explicitly says otherwise.

2. Quotes

Each quote lists the services, dates, named guides and operators, the total price in euros, what is included and excluded, which elements are confirmed, the payment schedule and the cancellation terms. A quote is valid for the period stated on it. Prices for services that are not yet confirmed locally can change until they are confirmed; we will tell you before you pay.

3. Confirming a booking

A booking is confirmed when you accept the quote in writing and pay the deposit stated in it, and we confirm back to you in writing. We then confirm the services with the local operators and send your final trip details.

4. Payments

The deposit is paid to us. The remaining balance is paid either to us before travel or directly to the local guide or operator, as stated in your quote, including the amount and currency. Keep cash for any balance payable locally; card payment is often not possible on the islands.

5. Changes and cancellations

If you want to change or cancel, tell us in writing as soon as possible. What can be refunded depends on the cancellation terms in your quote, which reflect the terms of the local operators involved. If a guide or operator cannot deliver a confirmed service, we will try to arrange a suitable alternative; if that is not possible, the amount paid for that service will be refunded as set out in your quote.

6. Things outside anyone’s control

Weather, sea conditions, flight schedule changes and similar events can affect activities and transfers, especially boat trips and the São Tomé–Príncipe flight. Where a service is weather-dependent your quote says so, along with what happens if it cannot go ahead.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Valid passport, visa if required, and health requirements (see entry requirements).
  • Adequate travel insurance, including medical evacuation and cancellation cover.
  • Telling us about health, mobility or fitness considerations relevant to the activities you book.
  • Following the instructions of guides and boat crews on safety.

8. Complaints

If something goes wrong during your trip, tell us straight away so we can try to fix it while you are there. After your trip, send your complaint in writing and we will respond.

9. These conditions

If anything on this page conflicts with your written quote, the quote applies. We may update this page; the version that applies to you is the one in force when you confirmed your booking.
